A 19 year-old woman from the Cardigan area has died and a child is in a critical condition following a Boxing Day car crash.
The single vehicle accident happened at about 1.37pm on the A484 between Llechryd and Cenarth.
The vehicle, a VW polo, was being driven by the woman with the young child in the back of the car.
The vehicle mounted the grass verge on the nearside and collided with a stone wall, police said.
The vehicle sustained substantial side impact damage.
Immediately following the crash the young child was airlifted to the Heath hospital, Cardiff.
The driver was taken to Glangwili Hospital.
Police confirmed this morning (Monday) that the driver had died on Sunday (December 29).
The child remains in a critical condition.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police on 101.
