Murderer Steven Williams has been labelled 'an evil monster' by the family of his victim, Joanna Hall.
Speaking on the steps of Swansea Crown Court after the guilty verdict was returned, family friend Tony Oram, said: "We are all very relieved and delighted that the correct guilty verdict has been reached for Steven Williams.
“We would like to thank Dyfed-Powys Police and the prosecution team for all their hard work in this case.
“We would particularly like to thank our police family liaison officer for all her hard work and support throughout.
“Steven Williams took Joanna from us in a particularly cruel and vicious way and unfortunately for Williams she survived her horrific injuries long enough to be able to tell us and the police what had happened, and that Steven Williams was responsible.
“Despite this and the weight of the evidence against Williams, he had continued to deny murdering Jo throughout and has put us through the harrowing ordeal of this court case.
“Nothing will bring Jo back or change the heinous things that Williams did to her and unfortunately we now have to live with that for the rest of our lives.
“Williams is an evil monster who needs to be locked away so that he cannot hurt anyone else in the same way as Jo.
“We would also like to thank the paramedics who attended to Jo and all the medical staff at Morriston who did everything they possibly could to save her.”
