Drugs charge pensioner chooses Crown Court

First published in News

A PEMBROKE Dock pensioner facing two drugs related offences appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Eric Mann, 71, of Harbour Way, entered no plea to possessing a quantity of cannabis oil. He also declined to enter a plea to a charge of producing 12 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of between £5,970 and £9,680.

Magistrates accepted jurisdiction of the case, but Mann elected to stand trial at Swansea Crown Court. He was released on unconditional bail, and will appear before the Crown Court on August 1.

There is a massive amount of evidence that Cannabis oil cures cancer, and many other terminal illnesses, it is the lobbyists from corporations like the pharmaceuticals that controlled/bribed our governments to ban Cannabis. This man is taking control of his own health by growing and producing Cannabis oil from his plants. It is crazy in this modern day that sick people cannot have supplies of this wonderful medicine, it should be widely available on the NHS to all adults who seek it, saving the NHS millions of pounds and helping millions of our terminally ill people. Rick Simpson (Run From The Cure) has been hounded by the pharmaceutical companies for curing and helping hundreds of terminally ill patients that have been told, we cant help you anymore" in other words, to go home and die. Please Google Cannabis oil and Rick Simpson. The law on the Cannabis must change, the prohibition of it makes no sense, only to the profits of the Pharmaceutical giants.

Typical stoner comment. Paranoid much?
Do you really believe cannabis is a class B controlled substance because it cures cancer?

With what is going on around the world, and cannabis being legal in the UK, and supplied in a medical form Sativex, then we need to change the laws accordingly. Unjust laws give a very bad smell! Drugs like caffeine our children often use, is less safer than cannabis. So please wake up and smell the coffee, and stop enforcing draconian laws based on misinformation.

I really do not understand why this iman has to be taken to court for a so-caled crime without a victim - the only people that can possibly benefit from this prosecution are those same people that are being paid by the state to protect the innocent so how does this protect anyone when the only people to suffer is the man being prosecuted and of course us, the taxpayers.

I am 100% against this prosecution - leave him alone, respect his right to a private life.

@hyper-injunction. Do you believe cannabis is illegal because it is a dangerous drug. Prey tell why exactly is it illegal.

For the record there is plenty of evidence to suggest that not only is cannabis aggressive against certain cancers but is also a great treatment for epilepsy, ms, autism to name but a few.

Guess what? it also makes people feel good. God forbid normal people want to take a drug that is not even close in toxicity to alcohol.

You sir are part of the problem

I pretty much support the idea of legalising "grass", it's a great support in many illnesses but honestly calling it some sort of wonder drug is a bit over the top, much more likely to develop lung cancer from cannabis than cigies, ppl who say the opposite forget the hundreds of millions who smoke tobacco on a regular basis - that's why more ppl die from tobacco that cannabis (same "excuse" for alcohol).
PS Can anyone tell us why drug lords are so dreadful - ensuring high prices have to be paid by addicts whilst Governments increase booze and ciggies tax is fine

I think you'd call it a wonder drug if you had been through what this man has been through, being treated for cancerand given just weeks to iive, taking cannabis oil and being cured. Is that not a wonder?

clinical studies or one persons excuse/reason for having these plants -I know who I'd believe - doesn't matter anyway, a little crowd have taken this story over for their own agenda
