THERE wheel-y couldn’t be a better way to spend an evening in Narberth than enjoying the thrills and spills of the town’s annual crazy Pram Push.

The ever-popular Civic Week event saw a variety of wheeled contraptions, each with a three-person crew, make their way along a timed course in the town.

The silly spectacle was cheered on by crowds enjoying the sunshine in the streets, and saw a storming performance by the trio of Jordan Williams, Ashley Williams and Nathan Evans to once again claim the title of the fastest team home.

And that was despite them feeling the heat in their ’Braking’ Bad theme of all-in-one suits, gas masks and rubber gloves.

With the campaign to save Narberth Swimming Pool as the main Civic Week charity, there were two teams from the pool taking part, with the ladies earning the honour of the event’s fastest females.

The top sponsorship was collected by the Cool Runnings crew, led by Jamie Bates, while heads were turned by the bikini-clad threesome of Ryan Lewis, Geraint Phillips and Chris Spratt.

“It was a great event in a brilliant Civic Week, and everyone had a lot of fun,” said Civic Week chairman and Narberth’s deputy mayor, Liz Rogers.

The event was organised this year by the Narberth Winter Carnival committee, and was followed by Narberth and Whitland Round Table’s ping-pong ball race down Water Street, with the first ball ‘home’ claiming its purchaser a prize of £100.
