YOU are invited to eat, drink and be merry at a three-day celebration of the best beers in the West!

More than 2,000 visitors are expected to attend Haverfordwest’s eighth annual Beer and Cider Festival, taking place at the town’s Castle over the August bank holiday weekend.

Drinkers will have 36 beers - all made in Pembrokeshire and the surrounding area - to choose from, plus a fantastic variety of ciders and wines.

To soak up the alcohol, visitors can indulge in pizza, freshly cooked in an outdoor oven, and wild boar burgers from Trehale Farm.

For youngsters (or the young at heart), there will be face painting, henna tattoos, craft and activity stalls and caterpillar racing.

Live music will be played all weekend, including sets from old favourites 2 Zone on Saturday and - fresh from the London O2 - Beneath the Reef, the best Ska/Punk in Wales!

CORE FM will also be in attendance, recording a live radio show.

With an expanded license allowing for a second music stage and a second bar, this year’s family-friendly Festival promises to be the biggest and best yet.

If you fancy yourself as a great booze producer, a home brew competition will be judged on Sunday, August 24, at 3pm.

The Festival runs thanks to the goodwill of coordinators, volunteers and supporters, without whom it couldn’t happen. The organisers would like to say a big “thank you” to everyone involved in what promises to be a brilliant weekend.

The fun begins at 5pm on Friday 22.

Entry is £3, which includes a special printed glass to use as a drinking vessel and take home as a souvenir.
