Scam warning over fake 'court summons' emails
THE Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has today issued a warning over emails claiming to be summons to appear in court.
On its official website, the CPS said: "It has come to the attention of the Crown Prosecution Service that emails have been received by members of the public which falsely claim to be from the CPS.
"These emails include a summons to appear as a witness in court.
"The CPS does not email witnesses in order to summons them to court.
"If you have received this email, please delete it and do not click on any of the links enclosed."
