PEMBROKE Dock’s long-awaited London Road Aldi store will be opening next Thursday, November 3, with a special golden ticket event for the first 100 customers on opening morning.

The store will be handing out golden envelopes, each containing tickets to win a range of prizes including a 32-inch DVD/TV Combi, £100 and £50 Hampers, and Aldi Goodie Bags.

Store Manager Sarah Pudsey will officially open the store, and Aldi will be serving complimentary bacon and sausage sandwiches, along with tea and coffee to customers in the queue on the morning of the opening.

Aldi has organised a school poster competition with local primary schools to encourage them to create posters to celebrate Bonfire Night at the new store.

The winner will be in attendance to reveal their poster and receive their prize.

In the coming weeks, Aldi will be donating a range of products to the Pembroke Dock Sea Cadets to help them with their forthcoming activities.

The store will feature around 1,500 product lines, with Aldi ‘Specialbuys’ days every Thursday and Sunday, and there’s lots of opening week Specialbuys for canny shoppers.

Aldi Store Manager, Sarah Pudsey said: “The Pembroke Dock store team and I are really looking forward to welcoming our new customers into the store on the morning of the opening, and with some great golden ticket prizes up for grabs, we’re hoping for a good turnout.

“We hope our customers enjoy their new store and take advantage of the great deals we have on offer.”

Aldi applications for a store at the former Waterloo Garage site have a history going back many years.

Full planning permission to build an Aldi food store and a car park at the site, was granted in November 2009, with the timescale to build extended in November 2014.

The new store has created 32 jobs and Aldi is still recruiting for a variety of roles. Further details and how to apply can be found online at www.aldirecruitment.co.uk.
