Saundersfoot (101 all out) lost to Neyland (105 for 1) by 9 wickets

IT was another heavy defeat for rock bottom Saundersfoot as Neyland showed no mercy in their quest to retain the Division One title.

The Seasiders were shot out for just 101, and then were only able to take one wicket as the league leaders cantered to their target inside 20 overs.

But the home side had threatened to post a competitive total as James Caine and Paul Mansbridge helped them recover from falling to 13-2 early on.

Caine hit six fours and two sixes in his 44, while Mansbridge (24) offered support as the pair put on 62.

But both then fell within balls of each other, and The Seasiders duly collapsed from 75-4 to 101 all out.

For Neyland, Henry Durrant took 3-33, Gary Lloyd 3-11, Nick Koomen 2-37, and Scott Jones 1-2.

And they encountered few problems in their run chase, as openers Nick Koomen and Scott John put on 60 before Koomen went for 41 (five fours).

But John went on to hit six boundaries to finish 40 not out, while No 3 Ashley Sutton made 21 not out as Neyland cruised home.

The defeat means Saundersfoot can now not finish outside of the bottom two this season.
