Herbrandston 2

Johnston 3

JOHNSTON edged a five-goal thriller at Herbrandston.

After Herbie had started the season with four wins on the trot, they have now suffered two defeats on the bounce.

Adam Hawkins gave the visitors the lead on 20 minutes, the striker heading home a Ryan Doyle cross. Five minutes later and Ross Williams headed in at a corner that gave the Tigers a two-goal cushion.

But Herbie fought back with goals from Scott Reid and Shane Walsh in the 35th and 38th minutes.

But just before half time and Luke Hayward’s free-kick in the box was guided into the net via Andrew Murray.

Remarkably there was not further scoring in the second period, but the Tigers were delighted to bag the points.
