Charlton boss Alan Curbishley today insisted he wouldn't be taking over West Ham.
The Addicks manager, 43, said he was flattered to be linked to the Hammers post after Harry Redknapp was sensationally sacked.
But he stressed he still had a job to finish at The Valley after a successful Premiership season at the south London outfit.
Curbishley said: "I am flattered to be associated with the vacancy at West Ham United.
"It is where I started my career and I have always had an affection for the club.
"There is still much to be achieved at Charlton and I want to be involved in the on-going development of the club."
Curbs has an escape clause in his contract allowing him to consider any approach from West Ham, the Evening Standard claimed today.
But Charlton chief executive Peter Varney said: "I can't understand why anyone would think that Alan would want to make a move down the Premiership table.
"He is under contract to Charlton. We have just enjoyed our best season for half a century and have done considerably better than West Ham.
