Lovely Little Haven and some of its character buildings - as they look today and in years gone by - feature in an exhibition at the village hall this week.
'Then and Now' views of the charming seaside cove will be displayed as part of the communitys conservation statement process with the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
Little Haven is among 14 conservation areas in the National Park and is one of the first communities to reach the important stage of drafting its conservation statement.
A working group, comprising enthusiastic residents and National Park building conservation staff, has been busy compiling information on the village, its origins, archaeology, architecture and history. The draft statement, updated following consultations with various public bodies, forms part of the exhibition.
Further comments resulting from the exhibition will be incorporated before the statement is submitted to the Havens Community Council and the National Park Authority. A further stage will be the preparation of a 'proposals document' describing how the conservation area's character can be preserved and enhanced.
The exhibition is being staged on Thursday and Friday, between 10.30 am and 7 pm.
The work to prepare the Little Haven document has been boosted by two temporary National Park workers.
Andrew Mawdsley-Reilly, of St Davids, has been on a New Deal placement with the authority as the conservation area assistant and so enjoyed his work that he volunteered to continue.
Working with Andrew, and National Park conservation area officer, Clarissa Wells, has been Pembrokeshire College student, Gary Davies, of Saundersfoot.
Gary has just completed a three-week work placement with the authority. He is in his second year of a two-year HND architectural and building conservation course at Pembrokeshire College.
Other members of the Little Haven Working Group are: June Phillips, Geoff Parker, Councillors Bill Philpin, Bill Cale, Ian Trevithick and John Davies, and Joan Scarratt, clerk to the Havens Community Council.
Caption Then: An early postcard view of Little Haven. This and other historic photographs will be on display in the village hall exhibition.
