CD Review - Travis, The invisible Band

Travis The Invisible Band Sony/ATV Music Publishing Ltd

After Good Feeling and The Man Who, Travis third album, The Invisible Band, is already a success.

The secret of a successful album? A dose of sad and nostalgic songs and a slice of happy ones. With songs appealing to your heart (Flowers In The Window, The Humpty Dumpty Love Song...) and others to your thoughts (Dear Diary, Last Train...), The Invisible Band offers you feelings for each day according to your mood. Just select the track and let the songs invade both your mind and body.

The cheerful chart hit Sing is not, in my opinion, the best song from the album. Side, Pipe dreams, Afterglow and Flowers In The Window are as dynamic. The latter was recorded five times by the band and will probably be one of the summer hits. According to drummer Neil Primrose, a good song should leave you defenceless, naked and vulnerable. That is exactly how you feel when listening to most new Travis songs. Just let yourself be guided by the music and Healys voice.

Obviously the invisible band is not invisible at all and most of their new songs are bound to be broadcast on the radio all day long. It may just mean that, in spite of their success, the group have managed to stay humble.
