Pembroke (137 for 8) drew with Haverfordwest (188 for 4)
Umpires: Mike Heritage and Alwyn Williams Scorers: Keith Mitchell and Jayne Cole
Haverfordwest captain Jonathan Twigg won the toss and batted at Treleet against Pembroke and promptly moved teenager Dai Davies to open in his place - and Davies repaid his skippers confidence because after a slow start where he adjusted to batting in the top echelon he scored a fine 77 which helped The Town score a healthy 188 for 4 in their 45 overs.
It was always going to be a very challenging total for the home side although Barry Evans stuck to the anchor role well for his half century, with skipper Kevin Jenkins admitting after that he wanted just a little more focus on claiming bonus points in drawn games, with the position at the foot of the table being so tight.
Jenkins again showed what a trier he is as he defied a nagging groin strain to bowl a full 12-over opening stint where he conceded only 13 runs - with Spencer Harries striking an early blow at the other end as he had Andrew Phillips trapped LBW for a duck.
He was replaced by brother Steve, who scored 22 of the 37 runs scored before he was caught by veteran keeper Keith Johnson off the almost as venerable Nigel Phillips - but there was no respite for Pembroke as Karl Rhead came in next and stroked his way to 33 before he fell to talented young leg-spinner Paul White when the score was on 82.
As Davies gained in confidence so the runs started to flow and Paul Thomas supplied the perfect foil with his big hitting, taking only 46 balls to reach an excellent 51 not out before Davies was last out, stumped by Johnson off Phillips with five fours in his 77.
Pembroke lost Hugh Davies early to Darren Brick, who also removed Spencer Harries for 26, aided by a good catch from skipper Twigg.
Matthew Mitchell started well but fell to Tucker, with Mark Fraser also out cheaply to Paul Thomas, who then pouched two good catches to help remove Gareth Scourfield and Martin Fletcher from the respective bowling of Adrian Griffiths and Clive Tucker.
Evans was eventually run out for 52 (made from 140 deliveries) and skipper Jenkins managed double figures - and The Town were always able to maintain a measure of control as Tucker finished up with 3 for 18 from his 12 overs, half of them maidens.
