Double success for Colin

Pembrey senior TKM karting champion Colin Mason of Johnston has been given another boost with sponsorship from Mr Rolfe John of Edmundsons Electrical at Thornton Industrial Estate Milford Haven.

With this additional support Colin and his family travelled to Llandow for round 5 with renewed determination after winning round 4.

In the first heat Colin started sixth on the grid and made steady progress to third place. Starting third in the second heat Colin made his best start of the season so far to take the lead at the first corner. Colin went on to win the heat comfortably.

The third heat saw Colin racing wheel to wheel with Richard Marsh of Dunkerswell in Dorset for the lead. Colin eventually had to settle for second place. The results from the three heats gave Colin pole for the final. With a solid start and an impressive first lap Colin opened up an early lead. With Colin extending his lead with every lap he saw the chequered flag with a comfortable lead.

Richard Marsh and Stuart Bliss both of Dunkerswell were the other two trophy winners. Colin has now extended his lead in the club championship.

This meeting was a double success for Colin as the results from the final would be used for round 1 of the Wessex Championship.

One further round will be in Wales at Pembrey with the remaining three rounds held in England at Dunkerswell, Forest Edge and Rissington later in the season.

Mr Rolfe John said he was pleased to be of some help and hoped Colins success would continue into the future.
