County's 'green and clean' image must be retained

PRESELI MP Jackie Lawrence has reinforced Pembrokeshires green and clean message this week.

When discussing potential projects for the county at events during the week, the MP has stressed the extra potential for economic development offered by the county as a result of its clean and unpolluted nature.

She told the Western Telegraph: There is nowhere more welcoming to inward investors than Pembrokeshire and we have seen several come here over recent months bringing hundreds of jobs.

But, those investors have time and time again stressed that one of the attractions of this area is its clean environment and its superior lifestyle compared to many places in the UK.

It would be a great mistake to allow any development to come to our county that threatens that. I am fed up with individuals, with no links to our county, thinking just because we are away from major population centres we are a suitable area to take industries that are not acceptable elsewhere. Its time they learned that we are not.

It is our very insistence on maintaining the quality of our environment that is attracting quality investors and provides the best option for our future.
