Man's body found in flat

Milford Haven police were called to an address in North Road last Friday after a partially decomposed body was found in one of the flats there.

Michael Philip Raymond, aged 42, was found in flat three, 35 North Road, after neighbours in the building complained to the landlord, Mr Keith Williams, about the smell coming from Mr Raymonds room.

Fellow resident, Mr Peake, who lives in the block of flats next door at 32a, said that Mr Williams had found the body sitting in an armchair. Mr Williams described the experience as very unpleasant but declined to comment further.

Milford Haven Police contacted the coroner and the body was removed by Tom Newing and Sons, Funeral Directors.

Mr Peake said: 'I was standing outside when the body was taken out. I think it had been sitting there for between three and four days.'

A spokesman for Milford Haven Police said that the matter was now in the hands of the coroner, but could confirm that foul play was not suspected. Mr Peake said: 'He kept himself to himself. He was fairly quiet. Friends would come and visit every now and then, but other than that I think he was fairly isolated.'

Mr Raymond was originally from Steynton, but had spent time in Pembroke Dock, working in business with his father John.
