Look out for Katy at Disneyworld

IF YOU ARE off on holiday to Florida this summer look out for Katy Lewis Bayley, from South Pembrokeshire, who is spending a year working at Disneyworld.

Katy, of East Williamston, is part of Disney's international programme and is working as a cultural representative at the Epcot theme park.

Her opportunity arose directly as a result of spending four years studying for an HND and BA honours degree in Tourism Management at Swansea Institute.

She is one of 35 Institute students currently at Disney and at least the fourth from Pembrokeshire! Rachel Griffiths from Tenby; Helen Davies, Carew, and Damian Jenkins, St Davids, have all worked at Disney as part of their tourism studies at Swansea Institute.

This is Katy's second placement in the States. In 1999 she spent three months working in a theme park in Iowa - the big difference being that this time she is representing Pembrokeshire and Wales at the British Pavilion at Epcot, where she takes great pride in welcoming guests from around the world and telling them a little about Welsh culture.

Like the previous Pembrokeshire students Katy is benefiting a great deal from the experience and has recently been awarded the honour of becoming a Disney trainer.
