Carey in appeal to fellow Americans

AN AMERICAN living in Haverfordwest has appealed to fellow Americans living in the county to meet and share their feelings about last Tuesdays terrorist atrocity and maybe mark their remembrance.

Carey Wood-Duffy, who lives in Keats Grove, Haverfordwest, and works at the towns Citizens Advice Bureau, said in a message to her compatriots:

Would you like to gather with others to discuss the recent tragedy, acknowledge our national/personal loss, celebrate our cultural spirit and help create a way in which we can honour our remembrance here in West Wales?

She said she had been numbed in the first few days after the horrific events, which was why she was late making her call.

I know British people have been remarkably supportive, but I also know the feeling of frustration because of not being able to do anything. So I thought, if there are other Americans in the county, we could not only meet up and share this tragedy, but also look at a way of marking our remembrance, maybe a tree planting or something.

Carey, who can be contacted on 01437 768857, is hoping to meet her compatriots tomorrow (Thursday).
