A CARNIVAL atmosphere enticed Pembrokeshire shoppers to support local produce at Haverfordwest Farmers Market on Friday.
Stallholders dressed as pumpkins emphasised the seasonality of food and produce on offer at the twice-monthly market.
September is designated as Farmers Market month throughout the UK and Friday proved to be the highlight of those celebrations at the Riverside Quay, Haverfordwest.
Nicola Dent and Barbara Fredriksson, of the Celtic Herbal Company, Manorbier, grasped the spirit of the occasion in eye-catching style, wearing bright orange pumpkin costumes.
Pumpkins were also the order of the day at the Fynnonston Organics stall where these traditional symbols of Halloween and harvest fayre were being sold by Glyn and Ann Hicks.
Shoppers were reminded of the autumn deadline for planting bulbs by an appropriately dressed Pat Bean.
Mrs Bean, of Springfield Nursery, Manorbier, was a vision of vivid yellow in her daffodil costume.
The events caught the interest of HTV presenter, Hywel James, who focused on the thriving farmhouse industry created by Janet Mathias.
Janet, who runs her Bakeaway business from her kitchen at Horsefair, Cresselly, is to be featured in a HTV documentary.
The day certainly achieved its aim of colourfully celebrating food and cultural traditions of the season.
Entertainment included folk music and dancing and there were also inspiring cookery demonstrations using Pembrokeshire produce.
