Former England captain to join fundraising walk

Former England cricket captain Mike Gatting will be among the stars of the cricket world walking the entire Pembrokeshire Coastal Path in aid of Welsh cancer charity Tenovus.

The 186-mile walk, which is being organised by cricket umpire Jeff Evans, of Llanelli, will take place from October 20th to 28th, and will feature many other cricket players, including some of the current Glamorgan squad.

Jeff mentioned the walk he was planning, and I thought it was such a good idea that I wanted to join in, said Mike Gatting.

Im told that the Coastal Path is spectacular, so I am really looking forward to it.

Cancer is such a terrible thing, it affects just about everyones families, so it is a pleasure to be able to do something to raise money to fight this disease.

All money raised from the walk will go towards Tenovus programmes of cancer research and patient care.

Anyone who would like more details about they can join the walkers can contact Tenovus on 01269 831558.
