Tenacious tarries in Milford dry dock

The Jubilee Sailing Trusts tall ship, Tenacious, spent a few days in dry dock at Milford Haven last week.

Designed by Tony Castro, Tenacious is the largest wooden tall ship of her kind in the world. The innovative wood epoxy laminate build started in 1996 with a team made up of skilled designers, engineers, shipwrights, and fitters headed by ship build director Howard Mackenzie Wilson.

These were supplemented by a volunteer force of over 1,500 able-bodied and disabled people who came on working Shorewatch holidays from all over the UK and abroad.

Since her maiden voyage, Tenacious has taken 720 voyage crew to sea, of whom 315 have been physically disabled, including 112 in wheelchairs, and covered 11,090 miles to date.
