The families of two Pembrokeshire variant CJD victims may receive interim compensation payments of £95,000 this week.
Marianne Harvey was just 25 when she died in August 1999. Richard Cole, of Reynalton, died 11 months ago from this debilitating condition, In October, Health Secretary Alan Milburn unveiled a £55 million scheme for the bereaved families.
Most relatives have been given an initial £25,000 interim payment and will now receive up to £95,000 in the second instalment.
It follows a recent meeting between relatives and controllers of the compensation fund.
Mariannes father, Terry, has previously said that money he initially received would repay costs incurred while his daughter was ill. The remainder would be invested for the future of his other four children.
