Recycle your tree and win a bin!

Recycle your Christmas tree this year and you could win one of six Rotol compost bins.

The bins are being offered by Pembrokeshire County Council as part of the Christmas Tree Recycling Campaign 2002.

This national competition, organised by Keep Wales tidy and Environmental Campaigns (ENCAMS), will award a trophy to the local authority which has been the most innovative in encouraging tree recycling.

Each of the countys six recycling sites will randomly choose one customer to receive the bins.

In 2001, more than a million trees were recycled, a 44% increase on 2000. However, with more than six million trees bought every year, there is still room for improvement.

Trees will be accepted at the following sites at any time after Christmas (excluding Boxing Day and New Years Day) until the end of January. Pembroke Dock Amenity Site, Waterloo Industrial Estate: 8 am to 5 pm (9 am to 5 pm at weekends).
