Socks the cat is recovering after cruel pranksters doused the pet in petrol.
The Hopkins family were horrified when one-year-old Socks came home smelling strongly of fuel and with a matted coat.
He was violently sick and coughing from the fumes, said his owner, St Clears newsagent Keith Hopkins. We took him to the vet who said he had obviously been soaked in petrol.
I have an idea who could be responsible, and want to alert people to what has happened, as I wouldnt like anyone elses pet to suffer. Black-and-white Socks had to endure a thorough bath and two nights staying at home before he and his fur had recovered.
Keith said: Hes certainly back to normal. He pulled the Christmas tree over twice and is now looking forward to his Christmas stocking.
