Man, 82, dies after accident

A MAN from Kilgetty has died after coming into contact with a car on leaving a Christmas carol service last week.

Mr Wynford Reynolds, aged 82, and his wife, Mrs Clare Reynolds, aged 69, both received serious injuries after coming into collision with a Ford Escort on Sunday.

The accident happened as they were crossing the A478 road outside Bethesda Chapel, between Wooden and the New Hedges roundabout. The Ford Escort was travelling in the direction of Wooden.

Chapel-goers comforted Mr and Mrs Reynolds, of Red Croft, Cross Lanes, Kilgetty, until the emergency services arrived and took them to Withybush Hospital.

Mr Reynolds died at the hospital on Friday morning. Mrs Reynolds condition has been described as stable.

The accident happened at about 7.25 pm on Sunday, December 23rd, and the road was closed overnight.

The driver and front seat passenger of the Ford Escort were also taken to Withybush Hospital following the accident. They were treated for shock.
