NARBERTH are beginning to show the sort of form that has marked them out as a good side under Ralph Phillips for the last decade, with Jason Bridges back to his best against CAMROSE as he claimed another four goals in a 6-1 win.
Huw Vaughan opened the scoring and Bridges picked up a brace in each half, but the pick of the goals was the one scored by Richard Nash, who beat several defenders on a run from half way, hit the bar and picked up the rebound, beating two more tackles and sliding the ball home.
The Bluebirds were 4-0 up at the break and although Adi Smith scored a Cam consolation goal Narberth were always in control, as Brian Hawkins reffed well, and move into the top four of the table as reward.
Tony Picton was in the middle for TENBYs match against MILFORD UNITED at The Clicketts and Gavin Scotcher was the Seasiders hero with the two goals that keep his side at the top of the tree. The Robins played some good football, but former rugby fly half Scotcher used his pace to good effect and was the difference between two sides in a hard-fought tussle.
Hot on their heels are champions HAKIN UNITED, seeking their sixth successive title, and the Vikings had a little too much know-how for a FISHGUARD SPORTS side which played well but was two goals adrift at the break as Mike Cooper and Ade Haworth struck for Hakin. Darren Turners Sports team never gave up trying with Don Maclean-Walker as ref, but further goals by Steve Mathias and Karl Rhead saw Hakin to a comfortable 4-0 win and another vital step towards that record sixth title.
PENNAR ROBINS remain in the hunt as they beat ST CLEARS by 4-0 and Andrew Green scored the only goal of a tight first half. But the Robins moved up a gear after the break and Dai Patterson slotted home two goals before Wayne Brunton finished things off with a classic 25 yard free kick that flew into the top corner. Richard Stephens was the referee at Bush Camp.
GOODWICK UNITEDs veteran striker Steve Summers has found a rich vein of form this campaign and scored another hat-trick as his side beat MERLINS BRIDGE 8-2.
Goodwick were 4-1 ahead at half time and Bernie Armstrong, who scored lots of goals for both teams, described Summers third goal as a pearler as he chested it down and slammed it home in one movement. Mike AHearne also claimed a goal brace with others coming from Alan Davies, Rob Couzens and the ubiquitous John Bailley.
For the Wizards, Brett Shakar and Jamie Candler found the target and Steve Thomass young side never stopped playing football with Paul Lloyd as the man in the middle.
CAREW showed that they are back on track as they beat fourth-placed ST ISHMAELS with Phil Cook in charge of affairs at the Recreation Ground.
Play was even in a goal-less first half but then Haydn Shapcott tucked home the first goal for The Villagers and others followed from Richard Bullock and Darryl John as they played some good football. Adam Davies responded for Tish before the finish but it was too late for Mark Davies boys as they slipped out of the top four.
Lee Jones showed his promise for MONKTON SWIFTS as he scored a hat-trick in a 5-2 win against Haverfordwest County that was refereed by Ian Baxter.
The Swifts were 3-0 up at half time and added a fourth as Barry Dilworth scored twice before the County fought back with two quick goals of their own.
But Jones, the teenage son of former Borough and Swifts player Neil Jones, popped up for his third goal to seal a welcome success for a Swifts side that finds itself in mid-table.
Haverfordwest County narrowly went down against Rhyl in the League of Wales by the odd goal in three. The Blues were 2-0 down at the break but had a chance to score when given a penalty, which Gary Twynham missed. They played better in the second half and grabbed a late goal through the efforts of Matthew Price.
