St Ishmaels 2 Pennar Robins 2
A hard, physical game at St Ishmaels saw the honours shared on the weekend although both sides thought that they should have won it.
For most of the game there was nothing to choose between the sides as both teams cancelled each other out.
There were chances being created at either end as Wayne Brunton and Andrew Green caused havoc for Pennar and Adam Davies and Steve Parkes did the same for the home side.
Tish took the lead courtesy of Davies who played with his usual blend of enthusiasm and skill and his pace off the mark helped him grab the opener as he shot one past Mike Murray in the Pennar goal.
With their tails up, Tish attacked at will but the form of Mike Brace and Darren Shaw, who was a colossus in defence for the visitors, stifled any more chances.
Brunton had a golden opportunity to level matters before the break but he saw his shot being cleared off the line and Tish took an interval lead. Pennar started the second half in the best possible way, as Brunton finally got justice and equalised with a scrappy but valuable goal.
Soon later the ace Robins marksman was at it again as he gained enough power in his shot to beat the outstretched John Pawlett in the Tish goal, to grab another and put Pennar in the lead.
The lead was short lived as Tish responded with an equaliser with just 15 minutes to go as Martin Waterman picked the ball up on the left and unleashed a shot that flew past Murray.
It was an outstanding goal to draw the home team level but they had a chance to win soon after as Davies broke free of the defence but his shot went agonisingly wide.
Brunton also had a chance to get the winner but it wasnt to be and the honours were shared although Pennar manager Bobby Bell thought that his team could have sneaked it:
We didnt really fire on all cylinders but it was a pleasing performance and we could have nipped it in the end.
