A joint rescue operation to recover a badly-injured man from the bottom of a cliff face in Tenby was mounted by coastguards, police, ambulance and fire service personnel on Thursday evening.
The man, in his 50s, was found behind the Tenby Sea Cadet headquarters at the harbour by cadets who alerted police.
Other emergency services were called in when the extent of the mans injuries was discovered. Although conscious, he had suffered head and leg injuries and was also extremely cold as he had been lying there for several hours after plunging some 30 feet from Crackwell Street.
A coastguard rescue cradle was assembled and was attached to a fire engine before being lowered down the cliff to reach the injured man. He was then hauled back up the cliff to the waiting ambulance and taken to Withybush Hospital. His condition there on Monday was said to be stable.
