Neyland made their seasonal debut at The Meads Sports Centre and came away with two wins at the expense of opponents St Ishmaels and Llangwm, who got off the mark themselves when they comfortably beat Tish in the other match.
Put in to bat by Neyland in game one, Tish were never able to raise the tempo and although they only lost three wickets they managed a paltry 57 in their allotted ten overs, a target that Neyland managed with 3.5 overs to spare.
Jonathan Pawlett started and ended his innings of 25 not out with a six but there were too many dot balls throughout the innings (24 in total) as Andrew Miller picked up two wickets and conceded just eight runs in two overs.
Brother Greg supported with 1 for 9 and John Jones had 0 for 6 and Phil Davies 0 for 4 in an over - and veteran Martin Jones risked his shoulder to give away only nine runs in a rare display of bowling.
Neyland lost Greg Miller early on to a good catch by John Pawlett off Andrew Palmer but Andrew Miller and John Jones reached double figures before Danny Flynn claimed a wicket and there was a run out. But by then Neyland had scored 41 in four overs and were guided home by Martin Jones and Phil Davies to a three-wicket success.
It was another solid display when Neyland beat Llangwm in game three, the Neyland batsmen setting a good target with a score of 105 for 1 before bowling out the opposition with ten balls left but still 23 runs adrift. Greg and Andrew Miller gave them a useful start with respective scores of 14 and 26 before youngsters John Jones and Phil Davies chipped in with 25 not out apiece, Davies striking two sixes and three fours as William Beresford and Simon Richards suffered the brunt of the attack, this pair conceding a combined total of 56 runs in their four overs after Richard Brock, Andrew Phillips and Jo Jo Francis had bowled well.
Beresford and Francis managed 18 runs each in opening the Llangwm batting sharp Neyland fielding ensured that only James Lewis reached double figures of the other batsman - and Neyland eased home as a result.
But Llangwm made a promising debut to indoor cricket as they earlier accounted for Tish, bowling out the opposition for 51 and then strolling to 52 for 1. Andrew and Paul Palmer were the Tish batters in double figures but again it was leisurely stuff as Dilys Phillips bowled well to take 2 for 8.
Jo Jo Francis led the Llangwm reply with 27 not out after ace run gatherer Beresford had departed for 8, bowled by Danny Flynn, and Mike Milward and James Lewis saw Llangwm home with 2.3 overs in hand.
