No creature comforts for brave abseilers

FOUR BRAVE CREATURES are preparing for a 160 foot abseil from the Cleddau Bridge to drum up support for a bigger challenge to come.

The lion, tiger, giraffe and hippo represent the Noahs Ark Appeal. And they hope their bravery during tomorrows 2 pm descent will inspire people to take part in Julys abseil challenge.

It is hoped the challenge will attract as many as 500 people, each raising £500 from supporters. The total of £250,000 will go towards building Wales first childrens hospital.

Organisers want pubs, clubs and companies to put someone forward for the challenge.

Western Telegraph reporter, Patrick Alexander, has already signed up to make the descent and will be covering the challenge from a birds eye view.

Dyfed-Powys Police, the Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade, Pembrokeshire County Council, The Princes Trust, Pembrokeshire Challenges and the 14th Signal Regiment at Brawdy will all be pooling their resources and expertise to make the challenge a success.
