Tenby United 16 Glynneath 9
Tenby United sprang one of the surprise results of the day as they outlasted a strong Glynneath outfit which had slammed Cardigan 58-3 the previous week.
But they found the Seasiders in no mood to surrender as skipper Nicky Allen, veteran Mike Evans and Dean Bowen nursed their inexperienced team to victory.
Sean Brace also had a good game as he switched to fly half and kicked well, with Glynneath opening the scoring with a penalty from fly half Dave Harnett but the Seasiders claiming the first try when prop Lee Tucker, crased over for Bowen to convert.
Two other Harnett penalties were notched either side of a similar effort from Bowen - so that Tenby were just 10-9 to the good.
But good work by Brace, plus football recruits Dylan and Ryan Lawrence, allowed Bowen the possession to land a drop goal from 40 metres and an even longer penalty to gain a victory that pleased coach Gary Price for the way that his side really stuck to their task!
Cardigan 33 Resolven 63
There were points galore at the King George Vth Ground as Cardigan managed to score 33 points against Resolven but still lost by 30 points as there were errors aplenty - and 14 tries!
The Cardis trailed by 28-7 at the break as they had a try and conversion from Aled Thomas to tries by Gary James, Leighton Gerrard, John McPhail and Jamie Graham, all converted by fly half Phil Evans.
Evans also converted all five second half tries by Nick Goldsworthy, Steve Cooper, Paul Davies, flanker McPhail again, and Lee Roberts. For Cardigan, there were tries for No 8 Chris Jones, centre Barry John, scrum half Eurig Lloyd and prop Charles Gale, plus three conversions - but the Tefisiders were well beaten at the end.
Haverfordwest 18 Tumble 10
Haverfordwest produced one of their best performances of the season as they disposed of fifth-placed Tumble at Merlins Bridge, the final margin of 18-10 not reflecting the real effort made by the whole side.
There was no score for 35 minutes and it was 3-3 at the break as Neil Tovey landed a penalty for Tumble and Graham Badham equalised for the Blues.
Badham landed another kick before Tumble responded with a try by flanker Chris Morris, converted by Tovey - but Mike Jones made a break that was continued by young lock Andrew Griffiths, who sped 30 metres for a try which Badham converted.
The back row of Karl Weake, Richard Brazell and Andrew Thicker was re-united for the Blues and they led an inspired team display which was nicely rounded off when David Jones created a try for Danny Field which Badham converted.
Penclawdd 43 Fishguard and Goodwick 6
The Seagulls were 25-3 adrift at half-time and they conceded seven tries through Full back Rhys Williams (2), Richard Deacon, Gareth Sustan, Rob Richards (2) and Matthew Tucker, who also converted four to complete a good day for The Cocklemen. All Fishguard could manage in response were two penalties by Gerwyn Hughes.
Pembroke Dock quins 24 Bettws 10
The Quins produced the best result of the day in the lower echelons as they beat Bettws 24-10 at Bierspool to make it three wins in a row for Lenny Scourfields lads.
They led 14-5 at the break as Neil Harris scored an early try and there were three penalties for fly half Lee Rogers to a try for Bettws by No 8 Andrew Scannell.
The visitors added a second try through Tristam Evans but the Quins had strong centre displays from Lee Scourfield and Gareth Clarke, plus the back row of Harris, Gareth and Mike Scourfield.
Jason Griffiths also joined the fray after the break to set up a try for winger Gareth Lewis - and a conversion and penalty by Rogers was enough to give the Quins a welcome three points!
Neyland 43 Cwmgors 12
The All Blacks helped the Quins with a crushing win over relegation-haunted Cwmgors, scoring 33 points before the break without response.
Steve Evans looked the part at scrum half, Mark Riley looked comfortable as his partner and scored a first-half try alongside full back Greg Miller (2), flanker Simon Phillips and centre Martin Tamilia as Steve Roberts landed two penalties and a conversion.
Left winger Ian Leonard grabbed two second-half tries for Cwmgors, one converted by Kevin Windsor, but as the Neyland pack maintained firm control they had two tries from winger Delme Bateman to see them to an easy win.
Llandybie 24 Pembroke 13
Pembroke played really well in the first half against promotion-seeking Llandybie and were 8-0 ahead as influential flanker Simon Edwards crossed for a try and Phil Williams landed a penalty.
Scrum half Darren Gilbert also scored in the second half but Llandybie responded with four tries by centre Gavin Davies, winger Andrew Davies, prop Phil Evans and winger Arwell Lewis. Rob Goodfellow also notched two conversions as Llandybie took another step closer to Division Five.
Burry Port 32 Milford Haven 18
The Mariners were only 15-13 adrift at the break as John Morgan and Dean Hadley crossed for tries and Jim Farr landed a penalty. Grant Bennett also crossed in the second half but missed tackles and wrong options saw the Mariners go down to a disappointing second successive defeat.
Llangwm 16 Alltwen 43
Llangwm went down to defeat against promotion certs Alltwen but team manager Simon Richards reported afterwards that the Wasps gave 100% and the final scoreline didnt quite reflect the way they played.
They were 6-17 behind at the interval as Ackie Harries landed two penalties - and he later added a third and converted the Wasps late try by Simon Preddy. For Alltwen, Mike Morgan claimed a try brace and others came from Chris Jones, Mark Cole, David Connick and Martin Jones, with full back Andrew Roberts kicking four conversions.
Llanybydder 17 Crymych 67
Crymych claimed a big win at basement side Llanybydder, running in 11 tries as winger Wyn Jenkins led the way with a hat-trick.
Llan scored tries through Chris Morgan, Richard and Quinton Davies, with Morgan slotting one conversion - but the Preseli Men had tries by Eurig Davies (2), Barry Davies, Matthew Hill, Lyn Williams, Wyn Harries, Dylan Morris and a penalty try as Williams kicked three conversions and Eurig Davies two.
Pontyates 12 St Davids 12
St Davids did well to earn a draw at Pontyates thanks to good tries by Gethin Bateman and Osian Rees, Phil Lamb notching one conversion. But Ponty had tries by Phil Stephens and Jason Davies, plus an Andrew Evans conversion, leaving the game all square.
