Just one result possible as weather affects programme - again.

Rain swept in to ravage the second division fixtures and there was just one result as STACKPOLE easily accounted for LLECHRYD (see match report).

Three of the other matches managed to get going but spare a thought for NARBERTH, who worked hard to get their match against SAUNDERSFOOT in with a chance - only for the rain to sweep in as they were about to start!

JOHNSTON made a good start at ST ISHMAELS scoring 40 for 1 as John Summons continued his good form with four fours in his unbeaten 19.

Gary Stephens reached double figures before he top edged a ball from Johnnie Pawlett which Graham Salter did well to pouch in the slips - and Martin Davies marked his first game of the season (rumour has it that he has been waiting for a bit of sun!) with a boundary in his 9 not out. The early teas were provided by Helen Griffiths and Carolyn Palmer while the match balls were provided by Mr Dai John (Tish) and Peter Johnston Car Sales, Carmarthen (Johnston).

NEYLAND were cursing the weather because they had worked themselves into a strong position against BURTON at Oatfield Park, the homesters limping to 41 for 6.

Scorer Stuart Sharpe reported that Burton lost both openers for a duck as David Murray was bowled by the ebullient Greg Miller after James Scale had been run out to leave Burton at 0 for 2.

Skipper Chris Campbell (17) and Oliver Shelldrake (17 not out) redressed the balance before Campbell was adjudged LBW to John James, who shortly afterwards dismissed John Venables in similar fashion.

Ian Charles made a welcome return to the Neyland side with the wicket of Johnnie Griffiths from his deceptive medium pace and old-timer Peter Burton removed Richard Hayman as the heavens opened at 41 for 6, with Jones bowling well for his 2 for 6 and Burton picking up 1 for 0 in only four balls! The Burton sponsor was John Price (Carpentry).

CAREW 2NDS managed only 15 for 1 on The Racecourse against HAVERFORDWEST 2NDS, with Steve Phillips grabbing the only wicket as he had young Ben Evans caught at mid-off by The Towns acting skipper Colin Williams before the game finished after only 4.3 overs.
