Pembrokeshire County Council has said there will be no change in the classification of this summers blockbuster film, Spider-man.
The comment follows a decision by Carmarthenshire County Councils licensing board to reclassify the film from a 12 to a PG with strong warnings that it is not suitable for under-eights. The change, over-ruling the British Board of Film Classification, comes after appeals from cinema bosses, and means that children of all ages in Carmarthenshire can now watch the adventures of the comic book super-hero.
The requests in Carmarthenshire arose from cinema bosses arguments that this summers blockbuster was no more disturbing than previous smash hits such as Jurassic Park, Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone and Lord of the Rings, all of which were classified PG.
A spokesman for Pembrokeshire County Council said: Weve had no requests for reclassification and we would have to have one before taking action, so there will be no change at all.
