Best foot forward for childrens hospice

Ty Hafan, the Childrens Hospice in Wales, caring for children with terminal conditions, and their families, will be holding its first Milford Haven 5K Run on Sunday, October 6th at 11 am.

The run takes place around an officially measured 5K circuit in the Milford Haven Marina, approved by the Athletic Association of Wales, starting at the Heli pad and finishing at Marthas Vineyard.

It is hoped that the run will attract people of all ages (children over 16 only) fitness levels and running ability. The run will be split into four categories based on age and there will be three prizes in each category.

Each runner will get a race memento and all those who can raise over £30 in sponsorship will receive a unique Milford Haven T-shirt. Spot prizes will also be awarded.

Two of the dedicated runners are parents of children who visit Ty Hafan for respite care. Peter Russ, of Tenby, father of five-year-old Connor, and Helen Neilsen, mother of one-year-old Georgia, will be helping to raise funds for the hospice.

Entry is £6 for non-affiliated runners and £5 for affiliated. Contact the event team for more information and registration forms (01446) 739993 or email info@tyhafan.org.
