Robins manager Steve Maytum was a delighted man over the weekend after his troubled side gained a rare win.
Maytum praised the tenacity of his side after a depressing start to the season where results haven't exactly gone their way.
"We played some good football today and things worked out for us. The boys worked hard and we got the rewards."
Indeed they did as they were on top for virtually most of the game. Dean Busby and Dai Patterson were controlling the midfield while up front Matthew Price and Dean Driscoll were creating plenty of chances.
The first goal came after 25 minutes when Milford were awarded a penalty. Price stepped up and made no mistake as he tucked the ball away. Soon after and the goal scorer was off injured, but Anthony Roberts did a fine job in replacing him, and caused plenty of problems for the visitor's back four.
Milford kept up the momentum after the break and Roberts quickly put the Robins two goals to the good when he got on the end of a Dean Driscoll cross and slammed the ball home.
The Robins did have a few other chances to score but nothing came of them as Roberts shot wide and Driscoll shot at the keeper. But those missed chances meant nothing as victory was theirs.
Milford United: Carl Woodhouse, Daniel Hart, Darren Shaw, Richard Bland, James Probert, Dean Busby, Dai Patterson, Marcus Taylor, Tom Billing, Dean Driscoll, Matthew Price; Subs: Anthony Roberts, Mike Preddy, Lee Jones.
