Top story of the day in local soccer, (apart from a host of games being called off due to waterlogged pitches) has to be Hakin being held to a draw against Milford United.
In fact, they could very well have gone down to a shock defeat if it wasn't for a last ditch equaliser by Nigel Armstrong, despite being down to ten men.
The weather for this clash at the Obs was atrocious with the pitch in a very heavy state, but at least the game went ahead.
There were no goals in the first half although the Vikings had their chances, but failed to put them away even though they had the Lions' share of possession and the Robins defended deeply.
Milford keeper Martin Langdon was in inspired form between the sticks and pulled off a series of remarkable saves to keep his side in it. Leighton Edwards, Kristan Bennett and Paul Jones all had chances to score but Langdon denied them every time.
Following the break and against the run of play United scored against their near neighbours and rivals. With Michael Copper in goal due to Jason Morgan's unavailability and Steve Hartley out injured, Lee Charnley seized the moment with a brilliant, curling in-direct free-kick that flew over Cooper's head giving him no chance.
Hakin pushed forward in search of the equaliser and thought they had got it when Kristan Bennett put one in the back of the net but instead of the goal standing, he was sent off for a second bookable offence when referee Adrian Wilson deemed him to have handled the ball.
With the goal disallowed this could have been Milford's day of glory but soon after, Mills delivered yet another corner and Armstrong put it away to deny the Robins a famous win.
At Goodwick, Sean O'Connor's men had a convincing 6-3 victory over Carew.
The home side broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when Ryan Thomas made no mistake from close range after getting on to a Wayne O'Sullivan cross.
Five minutes later and brothers Dai and Barry Hayes combined to set the former up for a goal but then James Buckle pulled one back for the visitors with a shot from the far post flying into the back of the net.
Bernie Armstrong's good form continued as he headed firmly to restore the two goal advantage and Goodwick went into the interval in a buoyant mood.
This feel good factor obviously continued after the break as they scored three goals in quick succession.
Ryan Thomas set up Alan Davies for number four while Thomas did well when confronted with a one on one for the fifth. Soon after and a deserved hat-trick was completed follwoing a goal mouth scramble.
Then their wheels of motion were Buckled as Carew's first half goal scorer quickly added two more to give the scoreline some air of respectability but at the end of the day Goodwick were just too hot for them on such a gloomy afternoon.
Meanwhile over in Tenby, the home side had a good win at the Clicketts beating visiting Pennar Robins 5-1.
Pennar took the lead in the 25th minute when Andrew Green broke away to drill one into the back of the net from close range but then Tenby found their form and quickly equalised when Ryan Lawrence slammed one home.
In the second half they really came into their own.
Mike Lindsay got the second, Lawrence added the third and even worse for Pennar, Steve James was sent off for a second bookable offence. Phil Catlin scored from the resulting spot kick to make it 4-1 while David Day secured the win with fine far post header to give Tenby the points.
