Tenby back to winning ways

Prendergast Villa 1 Tenby 2

Two moments of madness cost Prendergast Villa dear on Saturday as Tenby snuck the win with the help of two penalties.

Villa manager Paul Britten feels they shoul have got at least something out of the game saying:

"Tenby got out of jail lock, stock and barrel. We should certainly have gotten at least a point from it."

They probabbly would have if Ryan Lawrence wasn't tripped up inside the box after 30 minutes of an evenly contested first half. Before that neither side really took control of the game despite Steve Britten hitting the bar for the homesters and Ricky Morgan and Lawrence going close for the visitors. It was real end to end stuff.

But then Dean Lewis felled Larwence in the box and Morgan made no mitsake in slipping the ball passed a despondent David Smith.

Villa went a bit quiet after the first goal but certainly got their act back together after the break when they equalised through a goal by the in-form Chris Williams who latched on to a long ball from midfield and beat the advancing Dewi Davies to score his fith goal in three games, which is a remarkable scoring record.

Tenby came back well and their pressure finally told when Morgan was felled in the box by Darren O'Leary and the diminuative striker made no mistake with his second penalty of the game.

Villa thought they had snuck an equaliser when Dean Lewis struck a powerful volley into the back of the net but the goal was disallowed and Tenby went away with the points.
