Dear Editor, - In 1962, I anda friend, Jock Meechan, once of 42 Regiment 68 Battery Royal Artillery, were just two of the 400 soldiers stationed at Llanion Barracks.
We will be driving from Scotland and the Midlands to spend a weekend in Pembroke Dock, hoping to meet up with some of the many ex-members of the Regiment who made their homes in the Pembroke area.
The best place to meet would be the Three Crowns if it's still a pub. We adopted The Three Crowns as 68 Battery pub back in the early 60s when old Jack was the landlord.
We look forward to meeting up, and it makes no difference whether they were 68, 94, 49 or Headquarter Battery, we'd love to have a beer with them.
There will be a Regimental reunion next year and I believe it will be held at the Sergeant's Mess, Lark Hill. For more information visit our website; just key in 42 Regiment.
