DYFED-POWYS Police have re-emphasised their commitment to bring policing closer to communities, both in urban and rural areas.
Milford Haven and Neyland have seen a return of bobbies on the beat with four dedicated officers taking up street patrols recently.
WPC Terri Harrison patrols Neyland and rural villages, PC Dave Mallin is on duty on the Mount Estate, Milford Haven, while WPC Susan Carriadge can be seen patrolling Hakin. WPC Judith Carter is the town centre officer for Milford Haven. Sergeant Dave Perry, whose duties include supervising the four officers on their beats, said: "We have identified four officers with significant experience who have been selected for this role.
"They will be tasked with forging stronger links with the community and making sure the people of Milford Haven and surrounds work with us. "This is all about getting back into, and working with, the community." In towns like Neyland and Narberth volunteers help to man the police station.
Dyfed-Powys Police are also hoping volunteers will come forward to help man the newly-opened St Clears police station. There had previously been a police office in the town, but now a building in Station Road has been refurbished into a police station, where officers will be based.
