Cathy flies in for Ducati reunion

OWNERS of Ducati motorcycles from across Britain and beyond gathered in Pembrokeshire at the weekend for their fourth annual club rally.

The Western Telegraph caught up with the convoy when it called at the Garland and Griffiths' showroom at Merlins Bridge, on its way to Porthgain.

Organiser, Tony James, of Brynberian, said: "We have 70 bikes on the road today. Tonight, we're having a party at the Llwyngwair Manor Hotel just outside Newport with a live band. We'll be presenting prizes for things like the nicest bike and longest distance travelled to get here."

One candidate who must be in with a chance for the latter prize is Cathy Pelech, who flew from Washington DC to spend the weekend with her fellow bikers.

Cathy flew back for the rally last year, but missed out after coming off her bike just half-a-mile from the reunion. She ended up spending the weekend in Withybush Hospital with a broken ankle.

The Pembrokeshire branch of the Ducati Owners' Club meets on the first Sunday of every month at the Garland and Griffiths showroom. For more information, call Tony James on 01239 891202.
