Major boost for business park

CONSIDERABLE interest has been sparked off in the latest phase of the £4 million Haven's Head business park development at Milford Docks.

With the second and third phases currently under construction, the Milford Docks Company is delighted by the scope of enquiries, in terms of number and geographical origin Interest has come from a number of sources locally. But the business park has also been successful in attracting considerable inward investment attention.

The development of units at Haven's Head marks a significant step forward in the future of the Docks Company's portfolio.

Jeff Teague, group development and property manager for Milford Docks Company, stressed the ability of the company to become main player within the regeneration of Milford Haven and west Wales.

"Originally planned to satisfy the growing needs of SMEs within the county, it is pleasing to note that the location and quality of the project has already attracted interest from a wider and larger sector of the market than initially anticipated," he said.

The project has received considerable funding through Objective One's ERDF initiative, as well as the WDA.

Mariam Moazzen, Milford Docks Company marketing officer, said: "Initial marketing activities have proved highly successful, sparking interests of inward investors from Cardiff, Bristol and London.

"We feel confident at building on this interest successfully, and intend to continue marketing within the wider business sector. Our objectives have not only been to market the benefits of Haven's Head, but the many advantages of being located in Pembrokeshire."

Despite initial setbacks on site, the lead contractors Cottons are now progressing at a steady rate.

The Docks Company is investing a significant amount into the refurbishment of the building that currently houses the privately run creche, Happy Days, at Havens Head. The Docks Company sees the creche as one of the important facilities forming the infrastructure and commercial environment of the Business Park.
