Climber hurt

A climber who fell from cliffs at St Govan's Head is being treated for back, neck and arm injuries after being rescued by helicopter on Monday.

The woman was part of a group tackling cliffs known as The Arrow when she fell just after 2pm.

The Wales Air Ambulance was called to the scene but, due to its lack of winching equipment, was unable to lift the woman to safety.

The St Govan's Coastguard team and Tenby inshore lifeboat also attended the scene in an operation co-ordinated by Milford Haven Coastguard.

The woman was lifted to safety by a helicopterfrom the Royal Naval Air Station at Culdrose. She was then taken to Withybush Hospital.
