If elected, what will you try to do about the following local issues: Attracting new jobs?

Working partnership with both Carmarthenshire County Council and Pembrokeshire County Council; Get the WDA to focus on the area; use personal initiatives to promote the constituency. The local economy? Encourage manufacturing jobs, but not at expense of call centres; make the constituency a year round holiday destination. The local health service? A new hospital for Tenby with at least six in-patient beds; secure better waiting time targets in hospitals. Road and rail links?

To develop Pembroke Dock as a port by upgrading the A477 as a Euroway; encourage rail and bus companies to develop services west of Swansea. The Bluestone project and tourism?

The Bluestone project may be a bonus, but I think it is a case of wait and see, at present; The Welsh Tourist Board must wake up to opportunities in the area. Farming?

The foot and mouth restrictions played havoc with the industry and the new six-day rule will help, but the farming industry needs to look at agri-farming and agri-tourism to survive. Education and schools? Fortunately the constituency has many good schools but the non-take up of foreign languages is worrying. War with Iraq?

I would have preferred there to have been a UN mandate, but will always support our troops. What sums up your constituency's challenge?

To secure more jobs, improve the health service, improve local infrastructure and give the people in the constituency a better quality of life.
