If elected, what will you try to do about the following local issues: Attracting new jobs?

Support and development of local businesses; marketing Pembrokeshire as a quality environment with a skilled workforce. The local economy?

I will continue my work with Pembrokeshire County Council, WDA and local business to encourage home grown businesses. The local health service?

I will work closely with our own health board to plan for our local needs. The abolition of all prescription charges and home care charges for the disabled will also be of direct benefit.

Road and rail links? I will work for improvements to road, rail and bus links into Pembrokeshire. We also need to consider choice and safety, particularly for our elderly and young citizens. Pledges on bus passes and speed limit schemes target these areas.

The Bluestone project and tourism? I will continue to support Bluestone with the year-round opportunities it presents for employment, and work for development in tourism which preserves and enhances our environment and offers growth in local employment. Farming?

I will aim to work with local farming organisations to ensure CAP reforms protect Pembrokeshire farmers, encourage young farmers into the industry, support small family farms, improve marketing of our high quality products with increased use of co-operatives. Education and schools?

Labour promises to invest additional money to tackle the issues of rural schooling. We need to develop community responsibility and civic engagement in young people. War with Iraq and its aftermath?

I will support local initiatives to provide aftercare and support. I would support national initiatives to provide aid and support to the people of Iraq in the postwar phase.

What sums up your constituency's challenge? I will promote our county as a place of opportunity - the gateway to Ireland and Europe. We can overcome the perception of Pembrokeshire as isolated and peripheral. I am committed to the future of our county.
