Seasiders claim big win

Saundersfoot (79 for 4) beat Llanrhian (74 all out) Umpires: Peter Perry and Phil Marsden Scorer: John Morgan

Saundersfoot took themselves to the fringes of the promotion race as they beat Llanrhian - while the top sides fretted again about the weather.

Llanrhian were put in to bat and were shot out for 74 after Danny Caine had clean bowled Tim Stirling, Adam Raymond and Chris Couzens cheaply as part of a fine 4 for 31 haul.

Only Tony Kitchell (26), Ben Jones (11) and Dai Charles (11) managed double figures as Kevin Sykes grabbed 2 for 18 in 12 overs (six maidens) and Chris Parker finished with 2 for 13. The Seasiders lost Steve Cook early on but Ian Poole (13) and Paul Mansbridge advanced the total past the 50 mark before Poole was dismissed for 13.

Danny Caine also chipped in with 13 and Mansbridge made sure of a comfortable win with an unbeaten 34, including a massive straight six to finish the game off in typical 'Mansie' style! A gritty 71 not out by old war-horse Gerald Hicks helped Carew gain a good win over their counterparts from Haverfordwest, who batted first and reached 151 for 7 thanks to Paul Luke's 48 alongside steady innings by Danny Potter (17), Jamie Jenkins (14) and Steve James (20) before Danny Dewstowe (14) and skipper Colin Williams (12) were undefeated at the end of their 45 overs.

Carew captain Ceri Davies claimed 2 for 39 and then Hicks found willing allies in Ben Evans (four fours and two sixes in his 37) and Jeremy Griffiths (28) as Carew won with 23 balls, and six wickets, to spare.
