What happened to MPs' 'free treatment' pledge?

DEAR EDITOR, - I was pleased to see letters printed in the Western Telegraph, highlighting the deplorable situation regarding the absence of NHS dentists in west Wales.

Like many other people we have had to go private, having been given no other option. A&E won't handle toothache, fillings etc, and a drive to Swansea is just not on.

I have written to our AMs, local and national MPs, but with absolutely no response. Maybe the situation in Carmarthen, where 600 people queued to sign with a NHS dentist, will draw media attention to the plight?

As well as OAPs each having to pay £200 per year, working people already paying increased National Insurance contributions since April will have to pay again when requiring a dentist in this area.

What ever happened to the 'treatment free at point of delivery' MPs keep telling us about the NHS.

Perhaps the same degree of urgency being applied to the Assembly building in Cardiff, could be channelled into addressing this problem.
