Bumper turnout for show scorcher

Glorious sunshine brought exhibitors and visitors to the village green in Templeton for the Young Farmers' annual show on Saturday, August 2nd.

The show was opened by president for the day, Peter Preece, who congratulated the young farmers for their effort in staging the show and for their community work over the past year.

There was a very high number of entries in all sections and the judges commented on the extremely high standard in many of the classes.

In the afternoon the Rosehips Egyptian belly dance group entertained the crowds, while the dexterity of the dogs in the agility show was truly amazing.

The community spirit continued into the evening with a barefoot tug-o-war contest and hilarious fun and games that were inventively compered by Wynne Evans.
