Cerys celebrates birth of baby girl

ROCK star and solo artist Cerys Matthews gave birth to a daughter at Withybush Hospital on Sunday.

The baby was born at 12.20pm and Cerys was back at the home of her parents, Pauline and Phillip Matthews, Trefin, by the evening.

Her delighted father said afterwards: "Everything went swimmingly."

Ex-Catatonia star Cerys, who has not yet chosen a name for her daughter, told the Western Telegraph: "The staff at Withybush Hospital were fantastic."

Cery's wedding to Nashville record producer Seth Riddle in February was kept very much a local affair as the couple married at Rehoboth Chapel, near Square and Compass.
