Village blossoms to take national flower award

Wolfscastle has won the Wales in Bloom competition in the under 600 population category.

"This is the first time the village has won this prestigous award," said Rev Geoffrey Eynon.

"The adjudicator Jim Goodwin, from Cardiff, said it was a delight to visit the village as there was an enormous pride everywhere. He added that Wolfscastle was worthy winner of the class.

Community council chairman, Mr Howard Griffiths, said: "One of the features was the WI fountain, and we are proud to have won this award after all the hard work by everyone concerned."
