Fight fluoridation

Dear Editor, - On September 8th there will be a vote in the House of Commons on a new Water Bill.

If made law, this Bill will allow for the fluoridation of your water. Nick Ainger MP and Jackie Lawrence MP are at present undecided about fluoridation.

Please write to them quickly with the following points:

* The fluoride to be added to drinking water comes from an industrial waste which may pose a health risk. * Fluorides are categorised as protoplasmic poisons and are used in commercial rat poisons. * Forcing 'unproven' medication on the nation contravenes basic human rights. * Evidence from the Republic of Ireland, which has fluoridated water, has shown that people are 40% more likely to develop cancer than those in Northern Ireland where fluoride is not added to drinking water. * Sugar is by far the biggest factor: If we really want to prevent tooth decay we must educate people and address the large companies that continue to sell products containing too much sugar.
